Nils Frahm - Biography

Nils Frahm is a Berlin-based musician, composer and producer. He learned to play the piano at a young age, and his work conveys the influence of classic, avant-garde, and contemporary composers juxtaposed with elements of experimental electronic music. He has collaborated with renowned cellist Anne Müller, Icelandic multi-instrumentalist Ólafur Arnalds and ambient instrumentalist F.S. Blumm.

In 2009, Frahm started garnering attention with the release of two solo albums, Wintermusik and The Bells, via Erased Tapes Records. His breakthrough came in 2011, with the release of Felt. Frahm followed this with his solo synth EP, Juno. In 2012, he released Screws, and a live album, Spaces, followed a year later. He is on tour throughout Europe this spring.
