Little Dragon - Biography

Little Dragon is a Swedish electronic four-piece consisting of high school friends Yukimi Nagano (vocals, percussion), Erik Bodin (drums), Fredrik Kallgren Wallin (bass), and Hakan Wirenstrand (keyboards). Although the band has played together since 1996, they didn't release a full-length until 2007, when their self-titled debut came out on Peacefrog Records. In 2009, the band released their sophomore album, Machine Dreams (Peacefrog).

Later that year, Little Dragon swung by the Gorillaz's recording studio and laid down a couple tracks with Damon Albarn and Co. The results of that collaboration ended up on the Gorillaz's Plastic Beach, and led to Little Dragon being asked to come along on the group's 2010 world tour. 2011's Ritual Union (Peacefrog) was written and recorded during Little Dragon's days off from the tour, and saw the band's reputation grow in the US and UK. In 2012, the band decided to take a break from touring and set up shop in their Gothenburg, Sweden studio to record the more R&B influenced tracks of the spring 2014 release, Nabuma Rubberband (Universal). Prior to the release of Nabuma Rubberband, the band performed at Coachella and continued to support the album with a series of appearances at summer music festivals, including Bonnaroo and Glastonbury.
