Johnny Marr - Biography
Johnny Marr is a British guitar player, songwriter, singer, and composer. Perhaps best known as a founding member of The Smiths, he has also been a member of The Cribs, Modest Mouse, Electronic, The The, and The Pretenders. He formed his own group, Johnny Marr and the Healers, releasing Boomslang in 2003; has played with or written for numerous other artists including Talking Heads, Bryan Ferry, Neil Finn, Beck, Billy Bragg, and Pet Shop Boys; and performed on the film score for Inception. Marr has been incredibly influential on other British rock bands, particularly Oasis, the Stone Roses, Radiohead, Blur, and Suede.
Johnny Marr released his first official solo album, The Messenger, on February 26, 2013 on New Voodoo.
