Rod Stewart / Faces Live - Coast To Coast - Overture And Beginners (CD)
Faces

Amoeba Review

After the Faces’ fourth studio LP, 1973’s Ooh La La, Rod Stewart, griped about the band in the press. It was the final straw for under-appreciated founder Ronnie Lane, who was already resentful of Stewart’s massive success as a solo artist; Lane left and was replaced by bassist Tetsu Yamauchi, who would record three final singles with the band. Lane’s departure is appreciable on the 1974 live album Coast to Coast: Overture and Beginners, but the majority of the songs are from Stewart’s solo catalog, and this is a welcome opportunity to catch the Faces in concert, where they rolled with a joyous swagger and strut.
