Our Stores: Buy, Sell, Trade

Because of different needs and flow of product, the Northern California and Hollywood stores have slightly different buying policies.

How We Price

CDs: Generally, we pay anywhere from 10 cents to $5.00 STORE CREDIT for higher priority CDs. A typical price for a strong title in good condition would be $2.00-$4.00 STORE CREDIT (or 50-75% of the store credit value in cash).**

**Our Northern California stores pay 50% of the store credit value in cash for anything but strong-selling LPs, Video Games and any other top-tier collectibles.

**Our HOLLYWOOD store pays $1.00 or less in STORE CREDIT ONLY for common and low-priority titles.

DVDs: We pay TOP DOLLAR for strong-selling and uncommon titles!!!

Unfortunately, due to the widespread shift towards streaming, the majority of DVD titles have lost significant value, most notably in TV show season box sets.

Our HOLLYWOOD store pays between 20 cents and $1.00 in STORE CREDIT ONLY for common and low-priority titles.

We may pay up to $7.00 STORE CREDIT (or 50-75% of the store credit value in cash) for full-priced and unusual Foreign films, Classic cinema from the '70s and earlier, Art films and Cult films, while Out-of-Print titles and special editions can go much higher.

LPs: We pay TOP DOLLAR for rare and collectible LPs!!!

A typical collection that contains mixed titles usually averages from 20 cents to $2.00 STORE CREDIT per LP (or 50-75% of the store credit value in cash).

However, if a record is truly collectible, in great condition, and we can get more for it, we might pay 1/2 in cash or 2/3 in trade of what we’re going to sell it for.

The less we expect to sell it for (or if it is collectible but very common), the less of a percentage we offer.

Videos: VHS is a format that is disappearing and becoming very difficult to sell. We most often pay nickels and dimes for VHS films in STORE CREDIT ONLY. Boxes must also be in good shape and the VHS must not be a screener/promo or have been bought from a video rental store.

Rare and valuable VHS tapes may come with a higher cash or credit offer.

Cassette Tapes: Another nearly-gone format that has become difficult to sell. Sellers will generally get 1 to 5 cents per cassette tape. Though, there are some high-priced rarities that will come with a Cash or Credit offer.

**NOTE: Currently our HOLLYWOOD store is not offering cash for Laserdisc, 8-Track or Reel-To-Reel formats. These obsolete formats can generate STORE CREDIT, but, in most cases, it will be in the range of nickels, dimes and quarters.
