Wallows

LA trio Wallows sound thoroughly charming on their first album, Nothing Happens. The band channels soft, sweet ‘80s dream pop and fuses it with the more lo-fi end of post-punk, creating an eclectic mix of songs for every occasion. “Scrawny” is an easy-to-love toe-tapper with a driving drumbeat. “Are You Bored Yet?” features the guest vocals of the angelic voiced Clairo on a tightly-constructed, shimmering slice of chilled out indie pop. An effortlessly cool and immediately likable album that delivers on the promise of this excellent band.
