Live At The Chicago Theatre (CD)
Utopia

Amoeba Review

For the first time in thirty-two years, Todd Rundgren and his legendary prog/power-pop band Utopia put on a show to remember at the Chicago Theatre. Original drummer Willie Wilcox, longtime bassist/vocalist Kasim Sulton, and new keyboardist/vocalist Gil Assayas strut their stuff to maximum rock ’n’ roll effect. Recorded live in the spring of 2018, the release features some of the band’s essential mid-’70s oeuvre, including “Utopia Theme,” “The Ikon,” and “Communion With The Sun.” There’s something from each of the band’s ten studio albums here, which should scratch a major itch for Utopia fans.
