Liza Anne uses her new album Fine But Dying to share her struggles with mental illness, albeit in her sunny or quirky folk & indie rock melodies. “Small Talks” is upbeat and catchy while the lyrics cleverly tear apart awkward conversations and social anxiety. “Kid Gloves” is darker but still infectious, driven by a descending guitar riff and pounding drums. “Paranoia” stands out as well for an enjoyably spastic verse that fits the overarching theme.
